An excerpt...
C.A.T. was originally developed 30 years ago by Gert van Leeuwen, who founded the Critical Alignment Yoga Institute in Amsterdam. In our C.A.T. program students are guided through a series of postures and movements that focuses on the skeleton. It is a highly effective way of assessing and treating dysfunction in the musculoskeletal system by releasing and mobilizing the thoracic spine. The C.A.T. program uses active release exercises to release tension and strain caused by injuries or muscular stresses. The C.A.T. program is great for clients who have repetitive strain symptoms, have chronic muscle or joint soreness, or stiffness in the upper or lower back, or who have neck soreness. This program is also well suited for young and mature athletes, who want to prevent injuries and extend their athletic careers through postural alignment and reactivation of deep postural muscles.
