Focused on Wellness

Our Story

Yoga translates as "to yoke" or "unite". Yoga unites the body, mind, and spirit. Yoga in Brooks teaches a natural unification of these three aspects, believing that the physical body asana practice will lead to a connection with the mind and spirit. The instructors allows each student to "blossom" into their own yogic path. The studio  teaches to all experience levels and expresses the importance of each individual working at their own pace within the limits of their own body. Scheduled classes, private instruction, workshops and corporate yoga are available at Yoga in Brooks.

Shelley Rosland

Yoga Instructor/Owner

Shelley starting taking yoga classes at Inner Spirit Yoga in 2005. She was losing flexibility and a friend recommended yoga. She was hooked after the first class by how relaxed and good she felt after practicing. She soon discovered that the lack of flexibility was more than tight muscles. Both of her hips needed to have total hip replacements due to a congenital deformity. She now has limitations but with help, she has modified her practice. Yoga has given her the strength and courage to deal with very difficult times in life. In 2011 she completed Yoga Teacher Training, in Calgary ,at Yogadotcalm with Amber Kyliuk. Since then she has done various trainings including; Level 1 of Critical Alignment Therapy with Gert van Leeuwan from Amsterdam, Level 1 Reike, Restorative Workshop with Judith Lasater, Sacred Elder Teacher Training and Yin Yoga Teacher Training Level 1 & 2.
